How & Where Did You Meet?
We both met whilst studying for our degree at University, Kan was in his 2nd year and I was in my 1st. We both had mutual friends and got to know each other through them.

Which Venue Did You Choose & Why?
We first started looking for a wedding venue approximately a year and a half before the wedding. I started by looking on the internet for venues that would hold over 500 people to begin with and then just started visiting hotels to see what we liked.

Kan had previously been to Grosvenor House and was stunned by the set up of the Grand ballroom. We both visited the venue with our parents and decided that it would be the perfect setting for our wedding. The room itself is very big and we knew that there would be more than enough space for our guests to move around even after all the tables had been laid.

How did you plan your wedding?
Our wedding couldn't have happened without the hard work of Tania Tapel weddings. We found Tania-Tapel through our catering company that we used on the wedding day.

Tania-Tapel were the most helpful and friendly team of people that we came across during the process of organising our wedding. Planning our wedding was such an enjoyable experience, they helped us with planning the agenda for the day, contacted our suppliers to ensure they were all there on time and that everyone had exactly what they needed on the day.

It can turn out to be a very stressful day but luckily we had the team at Tania Tapel taking care of the things that mattered!

I would definitely recommend Tania-Tapel. If you want to be 100% confident that the wedding will be a memorable occasion and something that you can enjoy without having to worry about a thing on the day then it's worth it!

What did the bride wear?
For the ceremony I wore a pink and green lengha, the colour combination was actually put together by Kan and I was totally amazed by the outcome. I always knew that I did not want to wear red and for something to look so good without actually knowing how the colours would turn out was great!

At the reception I wore a turquoise lengha again designed by the same company I was extremely pleased with the way it looked on the day.

The tiara and jewellery that I wore on my wedding day was all brought from Delhi. For the morning ceremony I wore a green jewel set with earrings to match with a tikka.

For the reception outfit I wore a diamond set, the outfit was turquoise but had some lovely white stones in it therefore the set really complimented the outfit. I saved the tiara for the reception, it was something that I would never wear again but wanted to at the wedding to feel that extra bit special.

The shoes I brought were from Jimmy Choo and were cream with a jewel encrusted rose on each sandal.

What did the groom wear?
For our morning ceremony Kan wore a heavily embroidered sherwani to match the colours that I wore for the ceremony. The outfit was put together by a designer in Mumbai who made sure the colours Kan wore complimented my outfits.

At the reception Kan wore a black outfit in the style of an English suit but with an Indian touch, the suit jacket had an intricate design with very stylish embroidery and the trousers made from raw silk again designed in Mumbai.

Describe the ceremony. Were there any particularly memorable moments?
We had approximately 300 guests at our wedding ceremony and decided that we would have a grand reception with 600 guests later on in the evening. Every moment was memorable and the moment we saw each other for the first time on the big day, it was hard to hold back the tears of happiness.

Tell Us About The Reception?
The theme for our reception was all white with white roses and some greenery to compliment. The setting was idyllic; walking down the stairs into the hall was an experience in itself, the flower arrangements on each table looked out of this world. The walk way that Kan and I walked down again had big flower arrangements placed on crystal stands all adding to the ambience.

The reception ended at 9.00pm, we had Jazzy B play at our reception and everyone was on the dance floor, we all know how hard it is to leave the dance floor at a wedding party.

What Kind Of Food Did You Have?
We had Pink Champagne at the Champagne reception with floating canapés which consisted of Paneer ke gole, vegetable cocktail samose, a live cooking stall for the chaat, machli amritsari and gilafi seekh kebab.

The main course comprised of dal makhani, dum aloo, stuffed bhaingan, adrakhi gosht, chicken makhani, rice and a mixture of naan breads. The dessert was a concoction of 3 lovely specialities, Choca Mocha Cappuccinos, Gulab Jamun and Mango Kulfi.

Our cake was a lovely white chocolate 4 tier, with gorgeous white roses on each tier. We wanted the cake to match our colour theme in the hall which again was white roses.

What Was Your First First Dance?
Tere Bin from the movie Bas Ek Pal

Where Did You Go On Honeymoon?
We spent the first night at Grosvenor House, I actually had my doli from home so we travelled back to Surrey for this and then drove to Kan's, my new home, to carry out the traditions. Once these were completed, Kan and I made our way back into London to the hotel.

Our first destination was San Francisco we stayed here for a few nights and did all our shopping! Tahiti was our second destination and it was very relaxed and extremely hot. We then flew on to Bora Bora which was absolute paradise.

It was an incredible honeymoon destination with clear blue water and white sandy beaches with not a cloud in the sky. If there is one place that I would visit time and time again it would most definitely be Bora Bora. Our last destination was Los Angeles, we stayed in Hollywood and made sure we got round to see all the sights.
