How & Where Did You Meet?
We met just after the stroke of midnight on New Years Eve 2001 at a Ball in Kensington. After falling for one of Aman's cheesy chat up lines we got talking and he started telling about this new job he was starting next week. He told me it was in a little dead village near Watford and there was nothing to do there….turns out that's where I lived! It all went from there….

Which Venue Did You Choose & Why?
Aman proposed in December 2003, just before Christmas. We decided on marrying in summer 2005, giving us 2 years to plan the wedding…plenty of time! After spending the rest of the day panicking, we finally got down to some serious planning. We looked at over 20 different venues, ranging from manors to estates to hotels…you name it, we saw it! We had decided from the outset that we would have both a Sikh ceremony and a Hindu ceremony to incorporate both our religions; therefore we had plenty to do.

Aman's cousin was kind enough to organise the whole Sikh side for us, luckily they are the owners of Stoke Place and she planned the day perfectly for us. We came across our venue for the Hindu ceremony through a recommendation from a family friend, the venue being the gorgeous Pendley Manor in Tring. Although pricey, we immediately fell in love with it's old world charm, the clincher being the long beautiful drive, with trees which were lit up and peacocks displaying their plumage on the mansion's lawn.

Both venues had similar characteristics, both being grand externally, and sumptuous inside. Both possessed large ballrooms, with capacity for around 200 - 250 people, accommodation for changing, bars, and a bridal suite in Pendley. There were excellent photographic opportunities, as both venues are grade listed, and have large grounds, with plenty of colour.

How did you plan your wedding?
Aman's cousin, Bobby Dhillon (of Dhillon Hotels), took it upon herself to organise all aspects of the Sikh wedding, showing herself to be an excellent hostess, with a superb eye for detail, and great imagination

For the Hindu wedding, we enlisted the help of expert wedding planners, Wishes Wedding Services. Aman had already seen these guys at work, as he asked them to setup up our newly purchased apartment for his magical proposal to me. Wishes provided around the clock support, willing to see us when we needed assurance.

They organised catering, décor for a traditional Hindu ceremony in the morning and reception in the evening, floristry, and entertainment from the infamous Ritzy, dhol players, chocolate fountain and many other important details. As well as providing the services, they also co-ordinated these on the day, to provide both families with a hassle free day of celebration.

To add to this we also had a Sanji night for 300 people as well as a mehndi and mehfil night to add to the festivities.

What did the bride wear?
For the garba I wore a traditional maroon and gold crushed silk chania choli with a gold kundan set given to me by my masi. My sikh ceremony outfit was a light gold swarowski encrusted lengha with gold embroidery. That evening I changed into a pink and silver fishtail lengha with matching accessories.

The Hindu ceremony saw me wearing a traditional panetar in white and red with a white net chunni covering my head. For the evening I changed into a couture bustier style top with fishtail skirt in a champagne pink colour.

What did the groom wear?
Aman wore a traditional gold sherwani for the Sikh ceremony encompassing a maroon turban and his sehra. For the evening he changed into long jacket style suit with a silver waistcoat and tie. For the Hindu ceremony he wore a white sherwani with maroon and gold embroidery, changing into a morning suit with the pink waistcoat and cravat for the evening.

Describe the ceremony. Were there any particularly memorable moments?
For both Aman and I, both ceremonies were tinged with sadness as both Aman's parents and my father have passed away. This also made the ceremonies more poignant as they were held in their honour. All parents wish to see their children happy, our wedding day(s!) were the happiest days of our lives and I'm sure everyone would have been equally as happy for us.

My mum has been a continued pillar of support for both of us. She single-handedly managed to bring our family together to ensure we had the best day of our lives. Our cousins managed to get £200 of Aman's 'fake' money! My mami got Aman's nose, and most importantly…I sat down first! Our wedding days were filled with family, friends, happiness…and most of all lots of love.

Tell Us About The Reception?
Ritzy entertainment featured at both of our receptions. If anyone knows how to get a party started its Sanj! The décor was luxurious in ivory and pinks, cascading roses, pillar candles and low lighting. We had a chocolate fountain as a surprise for our many cousins and we made our entrance to the sounds of the dhol.

What Kind Of Food Did You Have?
Clay oven catered for our first wedding, starting with a milni breakfast, a delicious vegetarian lunch, and a heavenly dinner. Wishes catered our second wedding, again a vegetarian lunch after the ceremony and a sit down dinner in the evening. Our guests were provided with personalised menus and Wishes outdid themselves by serving pink juice to match our décor!

What Was Your First First Dance?
We danced to Pehla Nasha, an age old favourite at the Sikh wedding. At the Hindu wedding we danced to Adnan Sami's Tehra Chehra, the song Aman played for me as he proposed. Both songs hold special meaning to us and made our days extra special.

Where Did You Go On Honeymoon?
On the 22nd we were driven to the Queen Elizabethan Suite at the Crown Hotel, the same suite featured in Four Weddings and a Funeral. On the 5th we spent the night in the bridal suite at pendley manor.

As we had many guests from abroad we decided to spend a few days with our family before jetting off the New York, where we spent a week staying at the Waldorf Astoria. We then flew to Florida and the keys spending another 10 days before returning home.
