Raveena Tandon's wedding, one of the most
closely-guarded affairs of 2004, was held at the
Jag Mandir Palace which stands in the middle of
the Pichola Lake in Udaipur, in the heart of the
regal state of Rajasthan. .
Raveena said she has been
fascinated with the lake city ever since her
first shooting some years ago. "I love
this city, its beautiful lakes and palaces.
The place is so charming that I could not
think of selecting any other place as my
marriage venue," she said. |
|
| The marriage was
solemnised in Jag Mandir Palace hotel, while the
other ceremonies like the sangeet and mehandi were
held at the equally grandiose Shiv Niwas Palace
hotel where both the bride and the groom stayed. It
was essentially a traditional Punjabi wedding in a
Rajasthani setting. |

The Dulha |
|
Raveena's Dulha is Anil
Thadani (34) a film distributor from Mumbai who
was the distributor for Raveena Tandon's
directorial debut, Stumped, which incidentally
sank miserably at the box-office.
Commenting on her Dulha, Raveena gushes "Anil
is a very honest person - a quality that I
always wanted in my man. Plus he is extremely
down to earth and above all a simple man."

Their
First Meeting
Unlike the movies, it was not love not at first
sight for Raveena and Anil! Incidentally the
couple met for the first time on Valentine's Day
three years ago at Olive Restaurant in Mumbai.
Contrary to all her onscreen lovey-dovey roles,
it was not love at first sight for Raveena.
However her first impression for Anil was quite
positive.
After their first meeting,
the duo did not see each other for the next
two years. Then Raveena made her first film as
a producer - Stumped and Anil met her for
distributing the film. And though Stumped sank
instantly at the box-office, love bloomed
slowly between the couple. The Engagement

The Engagement
After weeks of speculation, the couple finally put an
official lock on the mouth of gossipmongers by getting
engaged in November 2003, just a day before Raveena's
32nd birthday. The engagement ceremony was a private
affair at the Tandon's Juhu residence with only close
relatives present. |

Wedding
Wardrobes
Delhi based designer Manav Gangwani designed
Raveena's bridal wear. A close friend to
Raveena, though Manav hasn't designed for any of
her films, he has crafted many of her off-screen
outfits.
Manav also designed three exclusive outfits
for the groom. Moreover Manav also took charge
of the wedding wardrobes for the entire Tandon
family. His creations include Churidar kurta
and sherwanis for Raveena's brother Rajeev
Tandon, outfits for sister in law Rakhee
Tandon, suits for mother Veena Tandon and
outfits for Raveena's adopted daughters -
Pooja & Chhaya. |

The groom's sherwani was done in beige with
antique gold zardosi work on the collars. The
sherwani was worn with a stole and a churidaar. "Anil
hates embroidery of any kind so we really had to
push him for just a sprinkling of it," comments
Gangwani. |
