Fardeen Khan Weds Natasha Madhvani
One of Bollywood's hottest heartthrobs, Fardeen Khan, tied the knot with his childhood friend, the beautiful Natasha Madhvani in December 2005. The chic grandeur and refined opulence of their wedding has set the style and theme for many a 2006 Shaadi celebration.

How The Couple Met
Fardeen Khan, son of Bollywood Actor Feroze Khan and Sundari Khan is himself a well-known Bollywood actor and also the brand ambassador of leading Indian designer label "Provogue". Natasha Madhvani is the daughter of yesteryear Bollywood Actress Mumtaz and London based Gujarati Businessman, Mayur Madhvani.

The couple's parents have been close family friends and Fardeen and Natasha have knowneach other since they were children. Natasha succinctly summed up their relationship by saying "He's my best friend, I have known
him all my life and couldn't dream of spending the rest of it with anyone else."

The Wedding Invitation
The card for Fardeen & Natasha's wedding was designed by Fardeen's sister Laila Khan Rajpal, a famous designer and painter. The card was designed in gold leaf setting the scene for what was to be a stunningly regal wedding.

The Sangeet
The celebrations kicked off with the Sangeet ceremony which was held at Mumbai's JW Marriot Hotel in Juhu (a hot favourite with London NRI's) on December 13, 2005. It was attended by the who's who of Bollywood including Shahrukh Khan, Esha Deol, Hrithik Roshan, Urila Matondkar, Zayed Khan and Preity Zinta. The night started off with a live band performing the song "Tumse milke aisa laga tumse milke" from Parinda. Sonu Nigam took over and sang some magical numbers in his fantastic voice.

The whole Bollywood entourage let themselves go on the dance floor and it was a sight to behold. Whilst Fardeen was dressed in a simple white Sherwani with Lucknowi threadwork and Natasha looked gorgeous in a pastel pink lengha, it was Fardeen's dad Feroze who stole the show and looked supremely dapper in an all black Kurta with gold zardozi work.

The Wedding Ceremony
What was so unique about this Bollywood Wedding was that there was no religious ceremony. Due to the fact that the couple came from different religious backgrounds, they chose to have a simple registered marriage ceremony, in lieu of a Muslim Nikkah ceremony nor Hindu Marriage rituals.

The ceremony which took place at Mumba's Grand Hyatt Hotel took place with a registrar performing the deed and the bride was walked down the aisle by dad, Mayur Madhavni. As the groom's father Feroze Khan aptly commented "We are a family who believes that all religions are one and that there is one God. We have always been a totally integrated and secular family, as have the Madhvanis."

The bride's wedding lehenga was designed by her mother-in-law, Sundari Khan in red and gold while Fardeen Khan's outfit (a gift from his friend,
designer Shaahid Amir) was a deep electric blue sherwani with opulentresham and Lucknavi dhaaga work, highlighted with Swarovski crystals - a true classic sure to be emulated by other designers.

The Reception
The Fardeen- Natasha reception was entirely themed in white and the ballroom at the Grand Hyatt looked like a setting out of paradise - white flowers and drapes hanging from the ceiling, over the dinner tables and draped over the baskets in long strands, matched by white chair covers, silk chair bows and white table centre pieces.

Natasha wore a white and gold, crystal-studded gown designed by her mother in Sundari Khan and Fardeen looked elegant in a golden-white tuxedo designed by Shaahid Aamir The groom's entire family - Fardeen, Feroze, Sundari, sister Laila - and the Madhvanis (Mayur, Mumtaz, and Natasha'syounger sister) stood in attendance on stage, with the happy couple, warmly greeting the guests and well-wishers.

The Wedding Banquet
Head Chef Anish Padgaonkar of the Grand Hyatt led a team of 80 sous-chefs to create a lavish and mouth wtareing banquet for the wedding. The menu for the wedding supper was vast, varied and superlative in every sense.

The hot Indian food section offered Murg Tulsi Korma, Zafrani Paneer, Amchuri Bhindi Babycorn, Dum Gosht Biriyani and Dhania Mattar Pulao to name a few. A special attraction of the evening was a Live Grill Station that had Teriyaki Sauce with Chicken Breast, Lamb Chops, and Parsley Potatoes, among other delicacies.

The Grand Hyatt also arranged for a Baked Potato live station, Risotto live station, Pasta live station and ice cream live station to cater to the crème de la crème attending the event. Apart from ice cream, the guests were also treated to a large variety of traditional Indian dishes like Gulab Jamun, Malpua, Jalebis, Walnut Tarts, and Mocharoulade.

The Gifts
Laila Khan Rajpal, Fardeen's elder sister and a famous painter said "Though Fardeen has lots of my paintings, I plan to gift him another one, which I will paint specially for him. Fardeen likes nudes, so maybe I will paint him one." Laila also designed the elegant looking wedding cards with golden writing.

Both families (the Khan's and the Madhvani's put together an audio-visual presentation (which they shot at a suburban studio) - moments of treasured togetherness - in a hush-hush manner especially for the bride and the groom.
