How should
bride's prepare before coming to you for a trial?
If a bride hasn't already started planning her look,
she is akin to a blank canvas and we can start planning
together from scratch. However, some ideas of the kind
of style she is going for, with reference to photos and
magazines are helpful and she should bring these along
with her.
If a bride has already started executing her plan and
done some of her wedding shopping, then I would require
her to bring the following to her trial with me:
The jewelry and hair accessories (Flowers,Tiika,
Jumahar,Tiara, Dupatta etc.) that she intends to wear on
her wedding day should be brought with her as these have
a big bearing on how the hair will be style. If the
exact items are have not been chosen then she should
bring something |
|
similar or at least use
photographs as a reference point.
The make-up should be worn on the day
of her trial in a similar way as she would wear it on the
big day itself. This actually works to the advantage of the
bride and the hairstylist so that they can both see the
total look and work on any areas of synergy and improvement
in time for the big day.
The top part of her bridal outfit must be brought along too
but if that's not available then she should wear a top with
a similar neckline, shoulder cut and the exact sleeve
measurements for creating the perfect image for her wedding
day!
Lastly she should bring along a camera so that we can
capture each pose differently designed giving an idea of how
it should be and what it should be having the options for
taking suggestions!
 |
How should the
hair stylist and beautician's work interact with each
other for creating a TOTAL LOOK? I have always
preferred that make-up for the trial and the wedding day
itself should be done BEFORE I create the hairstyle.
Make-up for the bride is as important as the hairstyle
and a good make-up artist can enhance the features of
the face bringing the best out in you!
Having the make-up done first, clearly gives the bride
and the hairstylist an indication of how the design
looks before the hairstylist creates the final finishing
touch that complements and crowns the bride's total
look. Ultimately you don't want your hair to compete
with your make-up and vice versa, they should be in
harmony with each other.

How can brides keep
their hair in good condition fortheir
wedding?
Plan a program to ensure your hair is in top condition for
the day. Go for regular trims and conditioning treatments
every 6-8 weeks to give your hair strength and shine. At
home use a good quality moisturising shampoo and conditioner
that suits your hair type and which your bridal hair stylist
recommends.Diet is also important to maintain luscious
locks. Drink plenty of water and have a diet with good
protein content.
 |
What are your
top three hair tips for brides to be?
Firstly, if your regular hairdresser is good at
dressing hair for special events I would recommended
that he or she should be the one to do your bridal hair.
Secondly, it's better and easier to create a stunning
bridal hairstyle on long layered hair rather the hair
which is short/and or of uniform length, so do grow you
hair out for your wedding.
Lastly, if you have always maintained your natural hair
colour, I recommend that you add some low lights and
high lights which must be done by a professional
colourist. It will enhance your skin tone and make it
glow for your wedding and honeymoon.
