How & Where Did You Meet?
We both worked at the same advertising agency many many years ago. We started out as friends, and after some time Dominic asked me out on a 'date' but I said no, I then left the agency and we went our separate ways but ended up meeting again a few years later where he asked me out again and this time I said 'yes!' The rest as they say is history!

Which Venue Did You Choose & Why?
As we were planning on having both the hindu ceremony and civil ceremony on the same day we wanted a venue that could accommodate both …. Micklefiled Hall in Sarrat was perfect - both ceremonies were held outdoors (thank god the weather held out!) and we had a huge marquee for the dinner and dancing afterwards. The venue was exclusive to us and so gave the whole day a personal touch. The house was stunning and the grounds just superb.

How did you plan your wedding?
I started with what I thought were the most important elements and then worked on from there to the finer details. Once we had confirmed the venue, caterers and priest/legal - it really was then focusing on the 'fun' parts like choosing the outfits for both me and my bridesmaids, designing the invitations, flowers etc etc.. I have to say it was all relatively painless and we really enjoyed every aspect of it.
What did the bride wear?
I wore a turquoise Indian outfit from Variety Silk House. I never imagined I would wear anything other than red for my wedding, but when I saw this particular outfit I just loved it… I also wore an English style wedding dress (complete with veil and tiara!) finding my English wedding dress was the biggest chore as I tried on every shape and style imaginable - but the dress I went for in the end - I felt, was perfect and I really felt it was 'the one' !
What did the groom wear?
Dominic wore a grey morning suit with a pink cravat.
Describe the ceremony. Were there any particularly memorable moments?
As all brides say, the day was perfect - it didn't rain which was my only worry along with me tripping up in front of everyone (which thankfully didn't happen) The day was a pretty long one, with two ceremonies and the evening dinner and dancing. I remember a feeling of surrealism as I was waiting for my make-up lady to arrive and thinking 'this is my wedding day !' I wasn't nervous just so very excited. When all my friends started to arrive and people were popping in to say hello it felt wonderful - I had to keep pinching myself, I was just so chuffed that all the people in the world I cherished the most were going to be with me on this day.

I think Dominic was more nervous about the Hindu ceremony than myself, but our priest made us feel so comfortable and really explained everything so well that it went off without a hitch ! We had a lovely wooden gazebo which acted as our mandap, we decorated it in pink hearts which both my mother and mother-in-law helped make - it looked beautiful . We also had a sitar player playing in the background. The ceremony lasted about an hour and half and then we had about 20 minutes to have pictures taken before I had to go and get changed again !

Whilst I was getting changed into my second outfit we had champagne and canapés served to the guests. As we had also invited a few couples who had children, we hired a bouncy castle which I think was the best idea - it kept the kids entertained and left the mums and dad's to enjoy themselves,

It was then time for the civil ceremony which took place in the verandah of the 'summer house' it had been decorated beautifully with roses and trailing ivy. I think I was more nervous about this part of the day as I would have to speak! But as I made my entrance for the second time that day (!) I beamed with pride as I saw Dominic waiting for me …… his reaction was so lovely that I suddenly felt at ease. We said our vows and when the registrar announced we were now officially married everyone cheered and that was the best feeling! We then served more champagne whilst Dominic and I mingled with our guests and also had more pictures taken by the wonderful Sam Ritz. Dom's bestman then announced our arrival and we made our entrance into the marquee where everyone again cheered !!! I felt like I was on cloud nine.
Tell Us About The Reception?
It was held in a lovely marquee that we had decorated with bay tree's, lots of flowers and lots of lighting! There were about 150 guests present. The DJ played background music whilst everyone sat down to a lovely three course Indian meal, provided by Greenleaf services. Dinner was followed by the speeches with Dominic said some lovely things which brought tears to my eyes. Our first dance was to Nat King Cole's 'let there be love' and after that I don't think I left the dance floor until midnight!
What Kind Of Food Did You Have?
We had a lovely three course sit down Indian menu (non veg and vegetarian) laid on by Greenleaf Wedding Services.

What Was Your First First Dance?

Where Did You Go On Honeymoon?

Last Words Of Advice For Other Couples Planning Their Weddings?
It does all go so quickly ! Try not to worry too much about things on the day other than enjoying yourself… I had a friend follow me around with her camcorder and she captured so many moments and conversations I had with people - you forget about these things afterwards. I would really recommend having someone capture your 'diary moments' of the day. But remember it's just the beginning of your life together and once the day and all the planning is over - there's so much more to look forward to !
